Q: What time can I arrive at Wheatacre Hall Barns?
A: The barns at Wheatacre Hall are available from 4 pm on the day of arrival.
If you arrive earlier and there is no immediately proceeding booking we will do our utmost to let you have access to your accommodation before 4 pm.
If you are likely to arrive later than 4 pm we would appreicate prior notice or if delayed on route a call as we always like to greet our guests in person.
Guests are asked to return their key, with the barn empty of all their possessions and in the same state they found it no later than 10 am on the day of departure.
Q: Do you allow children at Wheatacre Hall Barns?
Yes, children have a very warm welcome at Wheatacre Hall and we try to make their stay as happy as possible
- We provide a stairgate if required to our barns with stairs on request.
- Cots and highchairs are provided free of charge although it would be helpful to pre-book, so they will be in your barn awaiting your arrival
- A cot is also available to pre-book. A mattress and bottom sheet is provided, but please bring your own top layer bedding which is not provided for hygiene reasons and child preferences.
- Each barn has its own garden and patio area. There is plenty of grass areas for ball and other outside games.
- There is a Soft Play area opening Easter 2011 for the Under 5’s.
- A fully equipped Games Room for many family tournaments.
As you are aware Wheatacre Hall is still a working farm with animals. children are of course, encourgaed to meet our cows and calves but we would appreciate that they are always accompanied by an adult and respect the animals as we do. Like most farms, Wheatacre Hall has a pond which has been fenced, we would expect and request the guardians will explain to the children the safety aspects.
Q: Do you allow pets at Wheatacre Hall Barns?
A: Yes we do accept a dog per property with an extra charge of £25 per stay. Of course a registered assistance dog is free of charge. This charge is made to contribute towards any extra cleaning, guests do remain responsible, however for any extra damage caused by their dog.
- Any dog brought to the farm must be up to date with all its vaccinations.
- Dogs must not be left unattended in the accommodation at any time.
- As we have animals on the farm it is appreciated if dogs are kept on leads whilst on the premises.
- Please ensure all dog waste is collected and disposed of in the appropriate manner.
Q: Do weekly bookings start and finish on a Friday?
A: Weekly bookings are from Friday – Friday or Monday – Monday, as it is found travelling is easier to East Anglia during peak holiday periods on a Friday. Also this gives a full weekend stay to our guests.
Secondly, we find that short breaks are very popular and these run from Friday – Monday or Monday – Friday.
Q: Are short breaks available at Wheatacre Hall?
A:Yes short breaks are available either a three night Friday – Monday or a 4 night mid week break Monday – Friday.
We do not take booking for one night only.
Q: May I bring a bicycle with me?
A: Yes, many quiet lanes are available for cycling. We also have a selection of both adult and child cycles for our guests use.
Q: Is smoking permitted in any of the barns at Wheatacre Hall?
A: No, all of our accommodation is Strictly No Smoking.
Q: How far is the nearest Supermarket?
A: the nearest supermarket is approx. 10 minutes drive to Beccles, there you will find three major supermarkets (Morrisons, Tesco and Co-Op).
Tesco’s, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and Asda on-line delivery service is available at Wheatacre and we would be happy to accept a delivery for you.
Our Farm Shop is open daily, 8am to 6pm and offers a wide selection of fresh, local produce including a butchery and bakery.
We also have a catering service which can provide Home made ready meals freshly prepared from local ingredients – so helping for that first meal upon arrival (24 hours notice).
In any event you will find we have provided all you need for a cup of tea/coffee on your arrival.
Q: Is there a swimming pool?
A: No, we have no got our own pool at Wheatacre but guests can swim free of charge at the Waveney River Centre which is approximately 1 1/2m from the barns – just a cycle away! The pool is open daily from 8 a.m. – 7 p.m, all year round. Entry is by the key fob which is issued with the barn keys.
Q: is there a telephone available?
A: Telephones are available in all of our barns which are direct dial out. Charges for calls are made at the end of your stay (prices listed in barns). Reception for major mobile phone companies is found on most of the site but this is determined by the service providers. Internet access is also available.
Q: Am I able to access the Internet?
A: Internet access is available to guests who bring their own lap-tops etc.
Q: How do I order meals from Trios?
A: An order form will be sent to you with your final payment receipt. An order can be placed with Trios by telephone or email. The meals will be awaiting in your barn on your arrival then just heat in the oven and serve. Meals are also available during your stay but please give 24 hours notice.
Q: Are any extra beds available?
A: Extra single beds are available in Mallard, Coot, & Teal Barns. There is a small extra charge but this does include all linen for the bed. These barns have plenty of room for an extra bed in one or more of the bedrooms.
