Beer Gardens – Moorings – Restaurant
Built around 1520, parts of the original building is still in use
today. It was here that the ferryman had his bell, which was rung to
alert him to customers wishing to cross the river. With the erection of
the Hobart Bridge, business at the Bell became brisk with the present
building showing ample evidence of a substantial 14th century
development which indicated increased prosperity! The present Bell Inn
has many modern attributes with its bars, 40 plus seat restaurant,
gardens and its own moorings on the river Waveney. The Bell provides an
ideal location for that special meal in the comfortable restaurant or if
you prefer meals can be taken al fresco style during the summer months
on the large patio overlooking the river Waveney. Menus are varied,
changed regularly and all tastes are catered for including vegetarians.
Whatever your requirements the helpful staff will endeavour to make your
visit a memorable one.
