Wheatacre Hall Barns are set amongst the family owned farm of the Burroughs family which are third and fourth generation farmers within the Wheatacre and Aldeby area.
The farm consists of 1100 acres including a pedigree milking herd of 400+ cows plus their offspring . We also have eight Luxury Norfolk cottages of superior quality that we rent out for holidays and short breaks.
Arable crops grown on the farm are Wheat, Barley, Oilseed Rape, Seed Potatoes and Maize/grass for livestock feed.
The farms are situated in an attractive part of South Norfolk surrounded by the River Waveney.
Different enterprises on the farm are audited under many schemes thus assuring quality produced foods at all times.
Milk is produced for a Arla and some local businesses. We also bottle
our own milk which can be purchased from the office, this is Raw milk
and unpasteurised, we do also sell pasteurised milk, locally produced
ice cream and yogurts.
Visits to the milking parlour are available to view the afternoon milking or morning if you wish to rise for a 4am start!!
Just a quick note to say how much we enjoyed our week in Snipe and Woodcock Barns – it was one of the best holidays we have had. It was so lovely for our three families to spend time together and especially for the children to have all that space to play, and to have the facilities of the games barn and your amazing stock of toys and videos. We had some great times on Lowestoft and Southwold beaches, the local swimming pool and the Big Dog ferry trip. Thank you very much
The Wheatacre site has extensive river frontage with access through low laying marshland. A network of varying length walks will be available to the guests of our luxury holiday Norfolk cottages to roam the beautiful landscape and admire the undiscovered area of the southern broads.
Much birdlife is found on these low levels and viewing is easily accessible. Fishing is available along the River where many coarse fish are available and in the local fishing lakes.
Bicycles are also allowed on the site encouraging families to leave their car behind and enjoy the local quiet safe environment. Bicycles are available to hire free of charge.
Pasteurised whole and semi-skimmed milk and cream available from our herd of 400 British Friesian cows that graze through the Waveney Valley. Processed and bottled on farm and delivered to you.
Delivery available to Beccles, Bungay, Southwold, Reydon, Lowestoft, Norwich and surrounding areas.
